Zeebrugge

Zeebrugge itself is just beyond the harbour, but the atmosphere in this less built-up area is slightly better than Heist.
The best launch is at the end of the promenade, almost a kilometre west of the harbour. Powerful swell breaks here in west to south-westerlies, although it's more bump-&-jump than clean waveriding.

The current's noticeably stronger than at the sheltered spots downwind, especially at high tide.

Parking is plentiful, but it’s quite a way from the water. North-easterlies are disappointing as the long harbour-wall absorbs the waves. There's a great view of the water from the Icarus Surfclub terrace.
